Haryana sends three names for Chandigarh Home Secretary

The Haryana government has proposed three candidates for the position of Chandigarh home secretary, which became vacant on June 14 following the transfer of Nitin Kumar Yadav to a new role with the Government of India. The candidates under consideration are Haryana cadre IAS officers Amit Kumar Aggarwal (2003 batch), Mandeep Singh Brar (2005 batch), and J Ganeshan (2006 batch).

Amit Kumar Aggarwal, Mandeep Singh Brar, and J Ganeshan, all serving as IAS officers in Haryana, have been put forward by the state government as potential candidates for the Chandigarh home secretary position. This move follows the departure of Nitin Kumar Yadav, who left the post in mid-June to take up a new assignment at the national level.

Mandeep Singh Brar, who previously held the position of Chandigarh deputy commissioner from 2018 to 2021, is one of the contenders for the role. He served in this capacity before Vinay Pratap Singh assumed the role of Chandigarh DC.
